Telomerase Activity Test Kit

Inquiry

Telomerase is an enzyme that lengthens telomeric DNA strands and compensates for their shortening during replication. Thus, telomerase can delay or prevent telomere length-induced senescence. The role of telomerase in the aging process has attracted the interest of researchers. We offer quantitative assay kits for telomerase activity for aging-related studies.

Telomerase Activity qPCR Test Kit

Telomerase Activity Test Kit-figure-1

Cat. No.: TK002
Pack Size: 50 Reactions
Methodology: Quantitative Real-Time PCR (qPCR)

Description:
The kit is designed to quantitatively compare telomerase activity between cell samples. We use proprietary qPCR protocols and designed amplification primers to quantify telomerase activity in cell or tissue samples. Samples are first treated with cell lysis buffer to release telomerase, and new telomere sequences are identified and amplified in the assay based on the telomere primer set.

Storage: Cell lysates are stored at -80℃. Buffer and telomeric primer sets are stored at -20℃. Nuclease-free H2O is stored at 4℃.

Shipping: Dry Ice

Availability: In Stock

What is the Purpose of the Telomere Length Test?

Telomerase is an enzyme that lengthens the telomere chain, and telomerase activity is a marker of cell proliferative activity. Telomerase activity is not detected in the majority of normal cells. It is generally expressed in reproductive organs and embryonic tissues. Telomerase activity assays can be used for cellular timing, tumor diagnosis and potential drug development.

This telomerase test kit is a highly sensitive in vitro assay system for the detection of telomerase activity. The assay is based on PCR technique that increases the sensitivity of telomerase assays in small samples. The product consists of the following components.

  • Reverse transcription primer
  • qPCR primer
  • qPCR buffer
  • Negative/positive control
  • Nuclease-free H2O

Note

  • The reagents in this kit should be centrifuged at low speed before use, then gently inverted and mixed, and then carefully opened.
  • Negative/positive controls can be diluted in a gradient, and 3 replicates are recommended to avoid errors.
  • The baseline/threshold settings can be set by referring to the instructions and interpreting the telomerase activity results based on the assay values and curves.
  • If the assay fails, you can contact us for a technical consultation. We accept all technical inquiries via email.
